2005, proposal for Sacramento, California

RAIN consists of 200 copper vessels that gently rock as water runs through them, creating a rhythmic motion flowing down the sculpture. The vessels are hung on chains from a large steel reinforced arm that attaches to the building and houses the water nozzles that power the kinetic aspect of the sculpture. The water falls into a 20′ in diameter pool surrounded by seat stones that provide informal courtyard seating. The fountain system consists of plumbing, pumps and filtration. Image is a rendering of the 3-D computer model. Proposed to hang in the middle of the circular courtyard of Sacramento's Water Building, juried national competition finalist.
